Task

Your task is to develop orientation materials as members of the Welcoming Committee for incoming foreign students. To complete the task, you will do the following:

1. Research culture shock and advice for newcomers to a culture using the links provided in the WebQuest. You will be assigned one of the following topics:
   • the definition of culture shock and its symptoms,
   • the stages of culture shock,
   • coping with culture shock.
2. Discuss your findings with a small group who researched the other two topics and combine your ideas together.
3. Work together with your group to produce a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, an information pamphlet using Microsoft Word, or a webpage using Netscape Composer. Your group will have to decide together which kind of materials to produce.
